The first morning of March in Newark, Delaware, began like the 'Lamb;' beautiful day with sun, mild temperatures, no wind, people enjoying the park. By afternoon, the old proverb played out and March became the 'Lion,' with blustery cold winds, dropping temperatures and a slap in the face. After struggling on a painting that I began late last year, I decided it was time to think Spring. Valentine's Day triggered my desire to paint florals and this sketch got things started.

I find that at times, I get clogged in my brain and can't seem to move forward, wasting time and accomplishing little. Sketching is the solution for me to unclog the spirit. I love the spontaneity of pencil work and the joy of color experimentation. These are not 'finished' works, or are they.......??
